How it works

From the shelf to the last burn.

Eight steps connect a physical product to its passport and a brand to what happens in the customer's home. Nothing about the product has to change.

The process

Eight steps. Three participants.

Brand, WICOVA and customer each do a little. The product does the rest.

  1. 01

    Brand enables a product

A product and its batches are registered with WICOVA. Nothing about the product's design, fragrance or packaging has to change.

  2. 02

    WICOVA assigns an identity

Every unit receives a unique, unguessable identity linked to its product and batch. That identity is the passport's permanent address.

  3. 03

    NFC and QR are attached

An anti-metal NFC tag is fitted beneath the removable lid under a WICOVA cover label, with a QR code on the base as a fallback.

  4. 04

    Customer taps the product

Lift the lid, tap the phone against the underside. The passport opens in the browser with no app and no account.

  5. 05

    Passport activates

The first tap activates the passport, confirms the product is genuine and records where in its life the product begins.

  6. 06

    Usage is recorded

Burn sessions, remaining life estimates and Vision analyses build the product's own record over time.

  7. 07

    Customer gets smarter care

Timely reminders, trimming guidance and a fragrance profile that improves with every product they light.

  8. 08

    Brand receives product intelligence

Activations, sessions, lifespan, issues and repeat intent, aggregated and anonymised by product, batch and fragrance.

The moment

Lift the lid. Tap the phone.

The customer removes the lid, finds the WICOVA label on the underside, and holds their phone against it. The signal expands once and the passport opens.

Two sides of one tap

Better for the customer. Clearer for the brand.

The customer gets

  • A passport that opens with one tap
  • Burn tracking and remaining-life estimates
  • Care reminders at the right moment
  • A fragrance profile that improves over time
  • Proof the product is genuine

The brand gets

  • Activations by product and batch
  • Burn sessions and achieved lifespan
  • Quality issues before they become returns
  • Fragrance preferences of real customers
  • Repeat-purchase signals with timing
